Jeffery C. Ottah

August 22, 1990 — November 3, 2023

Jeffery C. Ottah passed away suddenly on November 3, 2023; he was 33.


Jeffery was born on August 22, 1990 in Brooklyn, NY to parents Josephine and Anthony Ottah.  He is survived by his parents, sister Amanda, and all who knew and loved him.


Since his youth, Jeffery has been passionate about music, art, video games, animation, computer programming, coding, and martial arts.  He expressed his love for Japanese animation, music, and video games by creating his own YouTube Channel called "Yingyay", which showcased his computer skills.


He attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy in Brooklyn from grades 1 to 7, followed by "Beginning With Children Charter School" through 8th grade.  He attended The Williamsburg Charter High School, where he received his high school diploma.


Jeffery attended the New York City College of Technology for one year, at which point he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for two enlistments as a Cryptologic Technician and Signals Analyst. He was stationed in Texas and Virginia, and deployed overseas in the Middle East and Europe.  He was an integral part of our national security, earning him the Joint Service Achievement Medal in June of 2012.



Jeffery received an honorable discharge in September of 2018, and returned to New York to spend the rest of his years with his mother, Josephine, and sister Amanda.



Jeffery was a pillar in every community or group he was a part of. His infectious personality and comedic sense of humor made it easy for him to befriend many people. He believed in taking care of his loved ones and doing whatever he could to support them.


He will be missed by all.
