Mary Miller (August 9, 1934 - March 24, 2022)
Mary Miller of Bronx, New York was 87 years of age when she passed away peacefully at her home in Millbrae, California.
Having grown up in New York under the guidance of adoring parents, Mary learned early on in life the value and importance of working hard and pursuing an education. Mary was bilingual and quite the scholar.
In pursuit of a college education and family; post bachelor’s degree she married the love of her life Martin Miller, then continued her education earning two master’s degrees from New York University. Mary also pursued her dream of creating a family of her own and gave birth to two sons, she was an adoring mother.
A woman of strength, knowledge, and vigor for life; a love of arts and culture, humanitarian causes, and so much more. A dedicated School Teacher for over 30 years, focused on improving the lives of young underprivileged students in the South Bronx; she was admired by her students and respected by her peers as being generous and diplomatic. In retirement, Mary spent countless hours volunteering and creating meaningful relationships in her communities of New York and California. She held board seats at her HOAs for over 20 years. A Docent of the Museum of Natural History in New York City. A member of various Burlingame and Hillsborough organizations in California. A contributing member of the International Federation for Home Economics (an NGO with the United Nations). Mary was passionate about travel and eager to learn about other cultures; in her volunteer role with the United Nations she found a meaningful platform to travel internationally and submit reports with a goal of improving the lives of others.
Mary is survived by her two loving sons. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband.
A private funeral is being held at the Riverside Cemetery in Saddle Brook, New Jersey on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at 2pm ET (
