Steve’s childhood dream was to become a paramedic. In 2005, he realized his dream when he was hired by the Fire Department City of New York (FDNY) as an Emergency Medical Technician [EMT]. 2019

In March 2019, Steve established his professional roots closer to home, on the south shore of Long Island, as sole-proprietor of Kleinberg Funeral Services, Inc. At his new location in Island Park, Steve continues to provide New York City and Long Island families with the qualities he is best known for: highly attentive, personal, and compassionate funeral and cremation services.

Before we opened our doors, Steve considered whether using a Jewish surname would give the perception he only served Jewish families, something he was very experienced with but not wanting to limit himself to. Steve, who is Jewish, has worked for Jewish funeral homes for many years and continues to provide Jewish services would like you to know:

Kleinberg Funeral Services warmly welcomes the opportunity to serve you and your family, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual preference.

The rapid and indiscriminate arrival of COVID-19 in early 2020 quelled Steve’s earlier concerns as families of every complexion from across the Tri-state area contacted Kleinberg Funeral Services. Desperate for assistance, they were greeted with open arms; no one was turned away.

Our core values are best embodied in the words of poet and author Dr. Maya Angelou: Be a Rainbow in Someone Elses Cloud.;Be a blessing to someone else and in return, they may be a blessing to you.
